#GettingToKnowEachOther

TOTARA PARK- WHAKAWHANAUNGATANGA

Every year, the whole school go on a picnic in the beginning of the year.
This is a great time to meet families, parents and for teachers to get to know their new class.

On the 10th of February, we did just that! We caught the bus down to Totara park, enjoyed the beautiful weather by going on a mini bush walk down to the park where some Room 8 students stepped up and showed some leadership and displayed "Tuakana Teina" to our younger students. We cooled off in the pool with our neighbours, Room 9 and filled our stomachs with YUMMY SAUSAGE SIZZLES!!! We had a great day!

#UnitedAsOne

First week of school was great!
We learnt to work together as a class and became untied by getting to know each other and helping each other out through group work.
We are currently learning about the TREATY OF WAITANGI.
We read a book called
The Tree Hut Treaty.

This book helped us understand more about the Treaty of Waitangi and we also created our own Class Treaty.

We discussed and brainstormed in groups the following:

What is PRIDE?
What is PERSEVERANCE?
What does a SUCCESSFUL student look/Sound like?
What QUALITIES should a CPS student develop?

In groups we managed to come up with a lot of awesome ideas and shared this as a whole class.
